Web3 domain provider Unstoppable Domains said Wednesday it’s rolling out Unstoppable Messaging, a platform that will allow users to send encrypted messages to each other from their Polygon-based domains.

With the goal of helping Web3 projects curate and build their communities, Unstoppable Messaging aims to help users carry their digital identity across their Web3 experiences. Holders can use their domain endings, such as .polygon, .nft or .x, to send peer-to-peer messages to one another.

Sandy Carter, chief operating officer and head of business development at Unstoppable Domains, told CoinDesk that its latest messaging service is another step in the company’s mission of fostering Web3 identity and bringing builders together through a Web3 native communication tool that also ensures privacy, a vital feature for sensitive discussions as projects develop.

“Messaging for me is so powerful, because I came from Amazon Web Services where we always work backwards from the customer,” said Carter. “This product offering was completely driven from our partners, Polygon being one of them, and this enables them to do the messaging they wanted.”

Sanket Shah, vice president head of growth at Polygon Labs, is also enthusiastic about bringing messaging to Polygon-based projects and communities.

“Identity is at the center of every community. In the Polygon community, .polygon domains provide that digital identity,” said Shah in a press release. “We’re thrilled that the Polygon community will gain a Web3 solution for connecting with others using only their .polygon domains with Unstoppable Messaging.”

Unstoppable has been rolling out a host of new features and forging partnerships to help Web3 users build out their identities. In February, Unstoppable teamed up with crypto browser Opera to offer support for its Polygon-based domains. Last week, Unstoppable tapped Polygon to roll out .polygon domain endings.

Unstoppable Messaging is set to launch at the end of 2023.
